Size: 750ML Proof: 114 (57% ABV) Origin: United States Distillery: New York Distilling Company Perry's Tot Gin, created by the Brooklyn-based New York Distilling Company, was originally developed while the distillery was creating its initial gin product. The distillery originally planned to create only one version of gin, but decided to produce multiple styles, including this product. This gin is named after Matthew Perry, a 19th Century US Navy Commodore who was once Commander of the Brooklyn Naval shipyard. It is also named for a "tot" - a sailor's daily ration of alcohol. Made with eight botanicals - juniper, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, lemon, orange and grapefruit peel, and wild flower honey - this gin is bottled at 57% ABV. Nose: Quite traditional and juniper led but with a creamy, syrupy natural sweetness and floral roundness, that almost certainly comes from the wild flower honey. Palate: Big and juniper led with citrus, especially grapefruit. Finish: Earthy orange and juniper. The New York Distilling Company, based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that heralds a return to the origins of spirit distilling in America. The distillery maps its past through the American distilleries that existed in 1700, and to the some 50,000 illicit stills in New York during prohibition. It seeks to emulate the past while creating high quality Gin and Rye Whisky.
