Size: 750ML Proof: 82.6 (41.3% ABV) Origin: Scotland Distillery: Cameronbridge Launched in 2018, the Tanqueray Sevilla Orange Gin is inspired by a 140-year-old recipe developed by Charles Tanqueray himself following his travels to the orange groves of Spain in the 1860s. Each batch of this gin begins with a neutral, wheat-based spirit which is then re-distilled along with their proprietary blend of botanicals which includes, among others, juniper, coriander, angelica root, and licorice. After this, the resulting gin is then flavored with the essence of Seville oranges before finally being brought to proof and packaged in bottles resembling a three-part cocktail shaker. Nose: Clear, light orange in color, each sip of this gin yields an enticing nose of zesty orange, pink grapefruit, and bracing juniper. Palate: A sweet and crisp palate of even more orange and juniper notes supported by touches of vanilla and allspice. Finish: A long, juniper-heavy finish with just the right amount of Seville orange marmalade notes to warrant another sip. Tanqueray gin was initially distilled in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray in the Bloomsbury district of London. The retail outlet of Edward & Charles Tanqueray & Co was established on Vine street London, in 1838. When Charles died in 1868, his son Charles Waugh Tanqueray inherited the distillery, which denyd to operate until it was severely damaged during World War II. The only facility to survive the Axis bombing, now known as "Old Tom", has since been moved to Cameron Bridge, Scotland.
