The fine folks at The English Whisky Co. have done a rather wonderful thing here. 500ML Proof: 40 (20% ABV) Origin: United Kingdom Distillery: St. George's Distillery Instead of purchasing empty ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks to mature their wonderful whiskies in, they decided to buy a few full ones! The sherry was blended with some of the distillery's single malt and left to rest further in the cask before bottling. The result is a superb sipper with rich, dessert wine characteristics. Nose: Rich malted barley and vanilla waft through hefty sherried prunes and raisins, with plenty of rounded, sweet oak. Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in taste. Finish: Finish is lingering.
