A crisp, tasty, London Dry Gin created by Wemyss! Darnley's is named after the time when Mary Queen of Scots first met her future husband Lord Darnley at Wemyss Castle in 1565. Size: 750ML Proof: 80 (40% ABV) Origin: United Kingdom Added to their spirits lineup in 2010, this is the first gin released by the Weymss family, who are primarily known for their Scotch whiskies. This gin honors the legacy of Lord Darnley, who lived at Weymss Castle near Edinburgh, Scotland in the 16th century. Starting with a neutral gain spirit distilled four times, six botanicals - juniper, lemon peel, elderflower, coriander seed, angelica root and orris root - are then added before its final distillation. It is bottled at 40% ABV. Nose: Rounded and creamy with angelica, lemon and elderflower. A burst of spicy coriander appears after a minute. Palate: Lemon and soft juniper, with the elderflower making another appearance. Finish: Earthy orris and coriander notes last.
